There are two historic sites and monuments in and around Dallas - Pickett's Mill site and New Hope Church monument. The Pickett's Mill Battlefield State Historic site is one of the best-preserved Civil War battlefields in the nation. This 468-acre park is the site of the ten-day battle of Pickett's Mill and has a visitors center, covered pavilions and picnic areas for visitors to enjoy.
Other covenient state parks and historic sites include the Etowah Indian Mounds State Historic site, Red Top Mountain State Park, Sweetwater Creek State Park and Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park, all of which can be found at the Georgia State Park web site or you may visit the Paulding County Historical Society & Museum web site .
